New user ;-) Hi all...having good times but have a question

I've been having crazy fun with this guy since before this I had a Motorola T720c which, yeah...just not comparable in any respect. What I find interesting is I don't have a new ROM and I am running Bluetooth on (not discoverable) with an SD card in and I have had a couple days so far of standby/talk time with no recharge. This isn't normal is it?

Also...for some reason sometimes my signal status bars don't show up properly (so far all that happens is the highest bar only shows the top few pixels and not the whole bar...until I move to another screen). Any ideas guys?

What are some necessities by the way for this phone? SmartExplorer I'm getting, going to definitely buy it as soon as I can work out this app unlocking issue. I've already put on my most important necessity, the background (see below) :).
