Guest pd.ryder Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 I've read all about the powering down of the port to conserve power, taking it out and putting it in again(!), searched and searched but nothing about formatting these cards for use with E200. History - had shiny new E100 delivered and a jolly good mate gave me a 128M "A1" card to fit it. Worked perfectly. E100 played up and after 4 replacements Orange agreed to replace it with an E200. Terrific! Put SD card into E200 which read it once and never again would it work. Had the card checked and subsequently replaced with a brand new, identical card branded "A1", 128M. I can't get the E200 to write to it or read it. It knows there's 119M storage available - confirmed with Task Manager's "System Info" function. Any attempt to write to it from the PC when ActiveSync'd seems to put the whole lot into a loop until the card is removed from it's slot. Question - where's 9 meg gone and how on earth do I format the 'effin thing? Orange CS no help at all. Should they need formatting. I'm sure the previous one had basic system folders such as My Documents etc. Anyone help?
Guest dombates Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 Download SP Taskmanager and use the Format SD Card option. It's free as well...
