Damaged e200 - Am I crazy?

Hi i really need a new fone and i have been researching the smartphones and they look cool however dont have the $$$s.

I can get a smartphone2 for cheapish however the top left button (above call accept) dosent work due to a drink spilled on it i think. Apart from that everything is working fine.

So

How essential is this key to the phones operations?

What are the chances of me taking this fone apart and fixing it?

Im in australia so any ideas on professional repairs would be great?

If you mean the soft key, the key nearest the screen itself, topmost, on the left hand side, then its absolutely essential in most respects...

yeah thats the one.

I looked at when the took the spv apart on that french site, and pulled out the keyboard circuit so if i could somehow get a new one of them or something it would be sweet.
