Guest markgamber Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 An attempt to flash an Everlink SC1100 apparently went bad and now it's completely dead. It doesn't even indicate that the power is plugged in....nothing. I'm convinced Everlink (Everwin, whatever they call themselves now) either doesn't exist or doesn't care. What seems to be their only support person, Mike Wong, is always "in a meeting" and no one responds to voice mail, email, phone calls or anything else. So the question is, is anyone else capable of flashing this phone back into shape or should I mail pieces to Neverlink and forget about it?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 What OSupdate were you trying to flash the phone with? In the condition you state your phone is in unfortunately indicates it is non-repairable. If the phone failed during the update (especially in the erase part) is it easy to kill it.
Guest markgamber Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 I was trying to take it from the 2002 to the 2003 release on the everlink ftp site, nothing exotic. I did finally get a response from everlink. If I send my phone to their Singapore plant and pay $26 for diagnostics, they'll let me know what it'll cost to actually spend the 10 minutes it would take to fix the phone. I think they're serious and I don't have the rest of my life to sit around waiting to maybe one day get my phone back so I've tossed it in the trash. Hopefully by this time next week I'll have a new phone from a real company. At the moment I'm leaning toward the Mitac 8390.
Guest smeg36 Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 Don't just throw it away! I'll take it for parts if nothing else.
