how do you use E200 as USB modem like original SPV

Well I took the plunge & upgraded to a free SPV E200, having used the original without too many problems I find that I can't access the internet through the USB cradle as I could previously qwith my laptop. can anyone help with settings to use for initialisation strings etc as the software wizard on the companion CD doesn't want to work even after turning firwalls & virus software off Help please before I do a velocity/wall/impact test on it......
