More about battery life (case/cradle)

Hi All,

So I have my SPV now and I am learning ...

I would like to use the included case, but what strikes me is that the backlight is on a lot of the time while the phone is in the case which can't be helping with the battery life.

The reason for this is that even with locked keypad when a key is touched the backlight comes on. How about disabling backlight when the keyboard is locked? Possibly as an optional setting, as new users (like me) need to memorise the unlocking sequence (the second key is * not # on Nokia).

And on the same note: why can't the screen stay on when in cradle and charging? Palm has this option (also switchable) and I really like this.

Simple mods, cheaply implemented Orange ... can you hear me? :D
