Guest johntiss Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 Does anyone know if there is an upgrade from smartphone 2002 to 2003 yet??? Or is the current ROM update the only one out at the moment?
Guest squall Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 there isn't an e100 wm2003 rom update available at the moment, and i have not heard of one being close to release
Guest johntiss Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 I read an article (with screen shots of the home page) from last year about it and it looked quite good....maybe it was from a different country then.
Guest johntiss Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 Here's the article... Orange answers officially about Smartphone 2003 upgrade for SPV and SPV E100 phones September 17, 2003 [MS Smartphone] Our friends from MoDaCo have the best Microsoft smartphone forum on the Internet. Among them there is also an official representative responsible for Microsoft smartphone platform at Orange (third largest cellular network operator in EU). Now he has spoken out and answered some questions: Will Orange be providing a way of updating the current 2002 system to 2003 via an update, or will the current SPV and e100 users be restricted to 2002? A business decision has not been made on this yet. You may or may not know this but do you think we will see the MiTAC Mio in the UK on Orange? Orange are working with a a number of manufacturers evaluating a number of new smartphone products, it would be inappropriate at this time to comment on any one manufacturer.
Guest squall Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 erm its article doesn't indicate orange are releasing an update from wm2002 - wm2003. The only phone/network i know have an update is the MPx200 on AT&T in the US, however even this rom is not available for general users, and is currently only available for testers/developers
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 6, 2004 Report Posted April 6, 2004 It is pointless upgrading the SPVE100 to 2003, it simply does not have enough physical memory. After updating you would have about 2MB free before running any apps etc.
