Hello,

after the firmware upgrade the following is *working* now:

1. BT modem connection with my iPAQ 5550: OK

2. Cleartype not forced on: OK

3. Globally switching on/off SMS delivery notifications: now OK !

4. BT ports can be set (and changed from within the registry): OK

5. Backlight now no longer dims when multimedia file is played: hurray now OK !

What (still) is *not working*:

1. Lower battery drain: cannot confirm this, unfortunately NOT OK

2. Keylock still does not prevent you from undeliberately accept a call when phone is in holster: not OK (this is very bad...)

3. "+" sign still does not work (long pressing 0 key) when entering a new contact or elsewhere (just works when dialling a number): NOT OK

What I have not yet (fully) checked:

1. MMS client (though it has a new version number and the copyright credits are from 2004)

2. WAP was not easily/not at all working for me (in the beginning just by trying invoking an URL by wsp:// later on not at all. Maybe my operator changed something on its WAP Gateway, dunno...)

3. Video client now seems to produce no fluent files like before the upgrade and the sound quality is noisy and seems worse than before :-((

Comments on my findings warmly appreciated !!!!

Regards

Gerhard

P.S.

Am I mistaken or had it formely been possible to set quality parameters within the built-in video client ? Maybe I just dreamed, but I have the faint rememberance to have set more than the 11kHz as the sound quality.

Can anybody please check that ?

What about the 'automatic-switch-to-meeting' feature, is that working ok? When you have an appointment booked as free time, does the phone still switches to the meeting profile?

I'm not quite sure what you mean.

I'm using the meeting feature (calendar) very often and never had problems in the past.

Actually the version number of my initial firmware of the Qtek was the same (1.7.10.)

Now the upgrade contains additional features and bugfixes like the mentioned.

At the moment I'm on vacation and marked that in Outlook on the PC. My normal appointments still show up and if I go to the Day view I can see that the day is marked as vacation.

So no problem for me, but maybe you mean something else.

Well, when you have an appointment marked as free time in outlook, the phone switches to your meeting profile automatically (when profile is set to automatic). But when marked as free time, it should stay on normal profile. when appointments are marked as busy, it should do the profile switch.

Can you confirm the switch does occur with a appointment marked as free time?

Can't confirm at the moment because of a lack of this situation, but will check next time I have a free day.

I observed an other peculiarity yesterday. Yesterday I had a free day but I was reminded of all (regular) appointments while the day was shown in the wrong day. It pointed to the free day before (= Monday).

Had to delete the free setting manually.

As this occurred for the first time (after the upgrade) I cannot tell you whether it is a bug or not.
