Phone/keypad locks out

my e100 has just developed an alarming fault, in that after 5-10 seconds use, the backlight & keylights go out - & the keypad fails to work at all, locking me out of the phone. the only key that works is the 'on/off & quicklist key'. if i press that then the cancel key i can scroll & use the phone.

if i've had the keylock on, however, i can't even use that one key (it just gives backlight)- all i can do is take out the battery replace & restart.

quite alarmed at this because the problem persists even after hard reset.

any of you folks experiencing this?? :shock:
