Guest Dumdidum Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 Ruttensoft is proud to announce the Release Candidate 1 of Media Remote 2004  What is it? Media Remote 2004 is a Remote Control for Smartphones for controlling the Windows Media Player on your desktop PC! It does not use short-range Infrared but long-range Bluetooth. The only thing you need to have is a Smartphone with Smartphone 2003 and Bluetooth (SPV E200/Qtek 8080 etc) and a Bluetooth-Port at your desktop PC (bluilt-in or USB-Dongle) It is working in the cradle too but then you are not that free! How is it working? To connect, you have to connect your Smartphone with Activesync, then start the Server on desktop-PC and then start the Client on your Smartphone! It is then autoconnecting (new!) At first use, you can insert up to 9 Playlists into the Server which you can later select on your Smartphone to start playing! Guest Pondrew Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 Sounds great, was impressed with the previous version and having ordered a new bluetooth dongle yesterday (one hell of a coincidence!) will definately check this new version out... EDIT: Oops. My PC is giving me an 'Error reading Setup.ini' message. Doesn't want to install. I'm running Windows XP Pro and trying to install onto an E200
Guest Pondrew Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 When exactly does it say this? It was having installed the software on my PC immediately after pressing the 'Install Media Remote 2004 Smartphone Client' button. I've resolved it though. I think it was because I hadn't properly uninstalled the previous version from my E200. All is working fine now. Follow-up: I'm impressed! it's all very well implemented and very professional. This is a real step forward from the previous release :D
