e200 imate sp2 qtek 8080...problems with handfree plug socke

My Imate shipped with a handsfree headset with a 4 pole connector.

I have been through 3-4 brand new brand name 4 pole connectors and have huge issues.

The latest is a shure 4 pole handsfree headset...

If I push the plug all the way in I can barely hear anything.

If I pull it out a bit I can hear ok but the person I call sometime can hear some times cannot hear sometimes gets a screeching sound...this is similar to other headsets I have tried (jabra etc).

Is there some special plug for this phone?

Does anyone have a handfree headset they are using that seems to work (other than the one that ships with it).
