Apologies if this has been asked before but I have searched for a solution to no avail.

Synchronized appointments on my E200 are displayed an hour later than they are on my pc. It only appears to affect individually entered appointments, repeating entries appear correct. I have deleted the partnership and started again but the same thing is happening.

Has anyone else had this problem? And if so how can I solve it? I am using Outlook 97 and have an unlocked E200 with the latest UK update. Any help would be much appreciated.

simple check, have you checked the locale settings on the pc and the phone.. ensure you are both set the same.

Alsoo is the phone and pc both saying same time?

Yes, both are showing UK and GMT, and the times are correct. My PC synchronizes perfectly with my Pocket PC, and I never had any problems with my original SPV.

what about the reminder - is it set to remind say 15 minutes before event?

I rarely use reminders. I'm referring to the entered appointment time, shown both on the home screen and within the calendar.

I'm amazed that nobody else has had this problem... I've spent three days trying to resolve it!

I've hard reset my E200, deleted the partnership and synchronized again, reset my E200 and PC to the 27th March (just before British Summer Time begun) and repeated the above, and the same error happens every time. I've even set my E200 to just before 1am on the 28th March 2004, turned it off whilst the Daylight Saving Time adjustment took place, and on restarting the phone I received the message that Windows had updated my clock settings, and still the appointment time errors occur. Strangely if I set my E200 time zone to Casablanca it corrects the time error of the individually-created appointments, but then all my repeating appointments are timed incorrectly!

I have ensured that the Regional and Time settings are the same on my E200, PC and Pocket PC. There are no synchronization errors on my PC or Pocket PC whatsoever.

It also seems that appointments scheduled prior to 28th March are correct. It appears to affect only those appointments created since that date. So I can only assume that this is a software error within the Daylight Saving Time adjustment feature on the E200.

I really would appreciate a solution here as it is doing my head in! What's the point in a Smartphone when you can't rely on the calendar?? I might as well just go back to my old Nokia 8310!

Come on Mods and Microsoft, please put me out of my misery!

Further to my last post, it has struck me to wonder whether it's the fact that I'm using Outlook 97. With my original SPV I was using Outlook 2002, but unfortunately due to Microsoft licensing I have been unable to re-install my copy since changing my PC!

Is anyone else successfully using Outlook 97 with their E200?

This is seriously annoying me now! After all it's preventing me from using my phone as I wanted to - i.e. to accurately take my PC's Calendar and Contacts with me on the move!

I've found a similar thread here affecting some iPAQ Pocket PCs....

http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/vie...der=asc&start=0

....which seems to be caused by a bug in the Daylight Saving Time software. I can only assume the E200 has the same bug, but am surprised nobody else has noticed it.

I've even upgraded to Outlook 2002 now, but with the same problem.

Any comments anyone?

Update:

I enter an appointment on my iPAQ 2210, it syncs correctly with Outlook 2002 on my PC, then on syncing my E200, the appointment ends up showing an hour later than is should do!

The same happens when creating an appointment on my E200, it shows correctly within PC Outlook, then ends up showing an hour late on my iPAQ!

Also when creating all-day appointments on my iPAQ, they end up as multi-day appointments spanning 2 days on my PC, but they seem to show correctly on the E200!

Could this be an Active Sync bug? Or because these errors only appear after Sunday 28th March, is this due to a DST bug? Or both?

It's clear from Pocket PC Thoughts that I'm not the only person experiencing these problems, although nobody else seems to be having E200 problems, therefore I am wondering whether the fault lies in the iPAQ itself.

Whatever the cause this is a SERIOUS bug which Microsoft should be addressing as a matter of urgency.

I had this on mine as well.

It is due to the daylight savings time change.

Open the time and date properties on your pc and then on the time zone page, set it to automatically adjust for daylight savings.

In active sync, options, sync options - also turn on sync mobile clock

Thanks Mark!

I actually found the answer only yesterday on another Pocket PC Forum. Now everything seems to sync almost perfectly. Times are now correct but the E200 does not seem to like recurring all-day appointments where one single occurence has been altered on my iPAQ. Although the iPAQ displays the amended appointment, my E200 displays the original one!

However I now take back my comments about the usefulness (or otherwise) of the E200. Very happy with it now....apart from the battery life!

I'm glad you're happier with your e200

I think if you edit your recurring appointments in Outlook and always select edit series not just the occurence, it should sync ok.
