well its normally done by pressing the * key. but if u have the tiwan 8390 rom, then english T9 is not yet available, so you stuck with using chinese T9 or mutitap option.

also, when using t9, type in a word and you have to push the up and down directions keys to change the word. most phones you just press the zero button
