Guest SmartVoyager Posted April 6, 2004 Report Posted April 6, 2004 I am having loads of trouble send an MMS message from my xPhone. I have the settings from tMobile and it still does not work. I can do the following: Browse html web site Browse WAP web sites Send and receive POP3 email with my company. The only thing that doesn't work it MMS. I have the service setup with TMobile and they confirmed it is on my account. I am using the settings below: MMS Settings name: T-zones MMSC URL: http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms:9201 WAP Gateway:216.155.165.050 MMS Preferences connect via internet Internet Connection t zones Work Connection automatic WAP connection tzones Secure WAP connection automatic tzones gprs connection connects to internet Access Point wap.voicestream.com Primary DNS 216.155.165.50 Secondary DNS 216.155.165.50 Any help would be appreciated. I do not have an application in my accessories dealing with MMS like the e200 users seems to have. I am running: Smartphone 2003 version 4.20.0 (build 13291) Radio version 1.12.00 Thanks! JS
Guest martin Posted April 6, 2004 Report Posted April 6, 2004 Try this Create another GPRS connection. Description: tzones WAP Connects to : WAP network APN: wap.voicestream.com In data connection make WAP network: tzones WAP In MMS settings change preferences to WAP network. All other settings can stay the same. Hopefully it should work. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest SmartVoyager Posted April 7, 2004 Report Posted April 7, 2004 I did exactly what you asked and this time it took almost 5 minutes for it to fail. It used to only take about 30 seconds. Basically it sits there with the envelope and the green arrow then it changes to the envelope and the red x. No error message or log.
Guest SmartVoyager Posted April 7, 2004 Report Posted April 7, 2004 I clicked submit before I thanked you for your suggestion. I am very frustrated with this because tMobile is of no help. They keep giving me the unsupported device speech. I know the phone can do it but I must be missing something. Thanks again. Any suggestions are welcome. JS
Guest martin Posted April 7, 2004 Report Posted April 7, 2004 SmartVoyager I'm not sure why it won't work :? You should have something like this Start - Settings - More - Data Connections Menu - Edit Connections - GPRS connections Description: tzones WAP Connects to: WAP network Access Point: wap.voicestream.com User name: Password: Home - Start - More - MMS - Settings - Menu - New Name: tzones WAP MMSC URL: http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms WAP Gateway: 216.155.165.050 Done Preferences Connect via : WAP network Done - Home Do you have any other options available to you under the MMS setup ?
Guest SmartVoyager Posted April 7, 2004 Report Posted April 7, 2004 Thanks for these settings I am trying them as I type this. I modified one of the existing connections and set it as default. My phone lists a bunch of stuff from other carriers I guess. Not really sure where from though. It just failed while I type this. Oh well. I was hoping since I made a "new" connection it would use it better. Should I delete the ones I don't need? I don't have any more settings other than the ones you mentioned. Thanks, JS
Guest martin Posted April 7, 2004 Report Posted April 7, 2004 Yeah, I would delete ALL existing data and re-enter the settings. This will re-create the data in the registry and ensure that the correct connections are active. I think the E200 has other options for MMS like gatway 1.0 or 2.0 and Max MMS size. I just wondered if the Xphone had these too. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest SmartVoyager Posted April 7, 2004 Report Posted April 7, 2004 The xphone is pretty sparse on the MMS settings compared to the other phones. I am going to try removing the uneeded entries and see what happens. Does anyone have a working xphone on tMobile with MMS functioning? Thanks, JS
Guest Ainvar Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 I am having the MMS problem too, The T-Zones WAP and T-Zones GPRS entries I made work perfectly for pie, agile, email, msn msger, and a few other programs I have tried. MMS is another issue. I have called Tmo and talked totherer WDG Tier 1 and 2 not Tier 3 when I asked to get escalated they put me on hold then hang up on me. They also do not know the diffrence between wap or gprs so I am actually scared to trust anything they say to me. One thing the second guy on the second call did for me was go into the mms server and remove my phone entry as a Treo600 and left it blank. I was already provisioned for mms and it worked on my treo600 and also my previous nokia 3650 with no issues. I am thinking it is there mms gateway/wap gateway that is the issue. The reason I say this is the mms server is configured for a select amount of phones from what I can figure out from what they tell me and the spv e200 does not fit any of them. I would love for them to have ageneric entry for unlocked european phones that users want to use.
