Guest Toufas Posted April 7, 2004 Report Posted April 7, 2004 connection settings in active sync say that the usb is connected...
Guest squall Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 sorry not to sure what to suggest, could try a different usb port. Also open the active sync application on the phone and check what it says when you put the phone in the cradle.
Guest maxh2003 Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Which version of Windows are you using? Does Activesync Help->About show that you're using "Microsoft Activesync Version 3.7.1 (Build 3244)"? Also, if drop your phone onto the cradle then go into Device Manager, you should be able to see a node labelled "Windows CE USB Devices", underneath which should be "SmartPhone USB Sync". Are these appearing (correctly, without yellow exclamation marks or red crosses over the icon)? If the answer to the last one is no, I suggest: 1) remove the phone from the cradle 2) in Device Manager, choose Action -> Scan for hardware changes (basically attempting to make Windows notice that the phone's *not there any more*) 3) reboot PC - and you might as well reboot the phone again 4) Once Windows has finished loading, drop the phone on the cradle. See if you get notification popups showing that "SmartPhone USB Sync" has been connected. 5) If you don't get any notifications, leave the phone on the cradle, go to Device Manager and choose "Scan for hardware changes", and see if that makes the thing detect your phone. 6) If that still doesn't work, try Control Panel -> Add Hardware. Please do reply if that worked or not, and if you find another solution do post it here, to help other users...
Guest Taoski Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 I agree with the above post by maxh2003! 8) Also, After using add remove programs to get rid of activesync. Manually delete the folder from c:program files (which i think you have done already). And also delete the Activesync folder from here: c:documents and settingsapplication datamicrosoft. This is where it keeps the profile details of each device it has connected to. This will prevent the PC from thinking it has already got the details of the phone and will force a new connection to be made. Reboot - reinstall Activesync - have a beer! :D
