Guest andysalmon Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Cunning plan my Lord! thought I. Have the Mpx replaced under O care for another handset (was offered Nokia 6600 ONLY, even after I offered to pay towards another handset E200 or p900 and that would be treated as an expensive upgrade) and then flog the cursed 6600 (AS IT NOWHERE COMPARES TO THE MPX ORANGE- GET A GRIP!) and then defect to a P900 with the cash ;) Unfortunately; like a plum, when I handed over the Mpx to the TNT courier, I left my 256Mb SD card in. I remembered just in time to see the van driving off into the distance! Not to worry I thought, a quick call to O will sort that out. Called O and was told they would only tell me who the carrier was and I would have to sort it out myself from there. I already knew it was TNT, so 'phoned them and was told that their contract with orange forbids them from "dealing" with O customers and referred me back to O, rang O who said it's TNT's problem ring TNT- anyway you get the idea. 4 calls to TNT and 5 to O and I finally got the O supervisor to ring TNT, who then wouldn't tell O where the courier was and wouldn't phone him. The upshot is TNT flatly refused to speak to me at all about the matter, O passed the buck to TNT. Okay, sez I when O gets the phone at the warehouse O can retrieve it there- not a chance sez O, we'll know we have it in stock on a shelf somewhere but not it's actual location, until after it's been refurbished and sent out again at which point it will tracked again. This is a company that can bar a phone but not find it :!: I asked O to replace the card and was told it was my fault I left it in the phone- yes, I accept that but the phone was now only about 1/2 an hour away from me at this point, it's not rocket science to track the thing down and redeliver it at my cost or I would have driven to get it. Anyway, I'm now going to rump O for a P900 to get my own back if anyone wants one for £190 brand new drop me a line at ANDYSAM13 ATT HOTMAIL DOTT COM and I'll tell you if you haven't already worked it out. I'll then unlock it and use it with O2 :D
Guest Cymruan Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 from the sound of post here lately, has orange just given up on its customers? surely they wouldn't have a company if we weren't there using the phones and giving them money for it. They must realise if they are going to be so narrow minded (if it inconveniences us, we wont bother) that they are going to loose customers to other operators that acctually provide decent service for the ppl that pay their wages.
Guest davidhorn Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 While I say this at risk of being stoned alive by everyone here - I'm personally really impressed with Orange customer services. My MPX200 broke on Sunday (hard reset wouldn't fix it) and Orange sent a Nokia 6600 the same day, reaching me in the evening. They also said that if I wanted I could return to the MPX200 if they get more in stock for free. Personally, I prefer my 6600... sure, it doesn't have a flip, but the screen is to die for, it plays n-Gage games, is fast, has a decent built in camera and has bluetooth.
Guest squall Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 so you decided to tell us twice?
Guest MPxMike Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Well I won't stone you alive - if you're happy with the 6600 that's great. Personally, I would rather have my MPx200, or at least a.n.other Windows-based phone. My biggest gripe with O is that the 6600 is not a suitable replacement, especially when, as some people here have done, you've integrated it into your home / office networking and spent a fortune on software, SD cards etc. Add to that the fact that of 4 people I spoke to at O, only 1 was aware of my rights as a consumer. Yeah, you're right - I do just like to hear the sound of my own keyboard :D Oh, by the way - is the fact that your post contains the same text twice due to you posting it from your 6600 by any chance? ;) Stay lucky Mike
Guest davidhorn Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Nope... my internet connection dropped halfway through clicking submit and something obviously got mixed up somewhere!
Guest goinnuts Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 spoke to a moto rep today, and good news orange are going to get some more mpx200 soon.
Guest Cymruan Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 is ther any reason we should belive that any more than them saying that they haddnt axed it in the first place?
Guest squall Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 yeah. Orange have had stock problems for the last few months, and although they withdraw the phone from the website etc, when they get stock the phone reappears on the website. This indicates that it is a stock problem rather than the phone being withdrawn. So i would say its likely that orange will sell the phone once again when they get stock.
Guest goinnuts Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 i work for o and i've spoke to both ms and moto reps and they've both said yes we are getting more. if you cant wait and dont a 6600 i recommend sending your mpx to moto they have it back in 1 week. (they use heys tech) most of the time you get a brand new replacement.
Guest Jarramag Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 David , I am amazed you got your phone on Sunday! I reported my mpx200 to Orange customer services on Saturday night , was promised a delivery of a nokia 6600 sunday am between 9 and 1! It didnt turn up as they apparently didnt have any manuals in stock! Was then promised to have it between 6 and 10 on Monday night , got call off them on Monday at work to say that the computer system had cancelled the order again as still no manuals in stock! Got another phone call later on in the afternoon to say it would be delivered Tuesday which it did thank god! I did however manage to get £20 out of them as my pc didnt have infra red or bluetooth and I needed to synch with outlook. Overall I think their customer service is absolutely shocking, my previous provider O2 was much better as you could even pick up a loan phone from the shops whilst your phone was being repaired. Asked Orange this and was told they could send another phone but I would then have to stick with it for the remainder of contract. Tried to pull a fast one at this point as ask for a SPV but was told this would cost me £100!
Guest cerberus_uk Posted April 10, 2004 Report Posted April 10, 2004 I phoned orange yesterday, to replace my e200 (again, 4th one this year!). i asked them if they could replace it with a different handset, i was offered the handspring treo, 6600 or another one cant remember which, i was stoned when i phoned em. Anyway, i asked orange about the mpx 200 and they said they've stopped selling it because of massive problems with it. I checked thier website and its not in the phones and plans section, neither is the e200. weird
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 10, 2004 Report Posted April 10, 2004 Never belive what customer support tell you, unfortunately (not their fault) they never seem to be given the correct and relevant information they need, so they seem to hear runours and take it as fact.
Guest davidhorn Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 Was told that they also had no manuals in stock, but the phone came with one anyway.
