Guest PaFF Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 I can sync my E200 with my outlook @ work (Outlook2000 & NT) but it will not sync to my home PC. I was having same problem with my SPV & Outlook 2000 but thought a fresh install might cure it. Symptoms: Activesync connects to my E200, checks for changes then will not sync TASKS/Calender/contacts, displaying the popup message in the attached doc. I am able to explore my E200 install SW, copy files etc... :D Resolutions tried: Deleted partnership & reinstated it. ;) Removed Activesync & Outlook & reinstated them. Upgraded to Activesync 3.7.1 :P Downgraded to Activesync 3.6 :D Replaced oleaut32.dll (post on a PC forum) :D Tried alternative USB ports :D Removed all other USB devices :D Checked USB settings :D Disabled ZoneAlarm :D Any ideas??? Please HelpSync probs.doc
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 Have you tried this? http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=142
Guest PaFF Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 I have found the following article on pocketpcmag.com http://www.pocketpcmag.com/Jan01/troublesh...o%20Synchronize This refers to an article on MSoft Knowledgebase 243029 http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;243029 This indicates the problem to be with mapi32.dll. CAUSE This problem can occur if Outlook 2000 does not properly update the copy of the Mapi32.dll file in the WindowsSystem folder during the Outlook 2000 installation. The file is supposed to be replaced with a stub which points to the real file in a separate folder. If the Mapi32.dll file is not replaced during Outlook 2000 setup, ActiveSync is not able to initialize Outlook 2000 for synchronization with Pocket Outlook items on the Windows CE-based device, and this generates the error message. I will try this & report back.
