Guest si_sleaf Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Hi everyone, When I shoot a piece of footage on my E200 and transfer it to my desktop, I can't seem to play it back. Is it some kind of proprietary format that will only play on Windows Mobile?
Guest Pondrew Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 It's always worked fine on my PC running Win XP Pro. It just opens in Windows Media Player...
Guest Vector Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 You will need to download some codecs, but i'm not sure which ones :D
Guest badboy4life Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 You need a MJPEG codec. I use Morgan's - but its not freeware.
Guest si_sleaf Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 It's always worked fine on my PC running Win XP Pro. It just opens in Windows Media Player... Yeah, I thought it would too. It starts playing for about 2 seconds and then stops. I don't think it is a codec issue because WMP9 usually says it is requesting a codec if it doesn't have it already. What is the limit for attachments on Modaco? I'll attach a file on here and if somebody could try playing it back on their computer I would be grateful. It's probably just my PC but if somebody could verify it then I can start trying to sort that out :D If the file is too large, please remove it mods 8) *edit* won't let me post the avi file ;)
Guest si_sleaf Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 try zipping it up first :D Aha! Good idea that man! If somebody could try playing it back for me that would be great ;)New Folder.zip
Guest blewer Posted April 10, 2004 Report Posted April 10, 2004 I just downloaded and it works for me :? Plays fine on windows media player and on Intervideo Win DVD I'm using XP
Guest siu99spj Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 Although I haven't looked at it personally, I'd recommend you try installing Windows Media Player 9 (Windows XP only came with 8 ). It could be that your old codec thinks it can decode the stream buut then gets confused and gives up. Either way, I'll have a look tonight and see if I can work out what it is.
Guest Skunkchild Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 XP and Windows Media Player 9 - your video plays without problems on my system.
Guest Disco Stu Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 Even plays in Windows Media Player 7 on Win98  Old skool style ! 8)
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 In the past i've found i've not been able to play mpeg's without Quicktime...(may just be coincidence though).
Guest neuronisis Posted April 20, 2004 Report Posted April 20, 2004 I'm also running WMP 9 and Windows XP Pro but still can not get the video from the e200 working??? Really odd. Any Ideas?
