Guest lonegunman Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 If you want to update to different rom's make sure you have a SD card in the phone ( I have the 8meg orange one) as if I try with out one I get the INVALIDED IMAGE, at this time I have upgarded to all the different roms I can get my hands on (I-mate,Orange swiss,Orange denmark and a 8080 one which when in the phone it says 8060?) the only one I have yet to try is an X-phone one. My phone is also SIM unlocked and APP unlocked but app unlocking is not needed all the time. Hope this is of help to people who wish to change rom and are stuck, also you do this at your own risk and if you kill your phone don't blame me as you pushed the upgrade button not me.
Guest dling1971 Posted April 18, 2004 Report Posted April 18, 2004 I tried the SD card trick on my xphone but it the ev200 rom update from orange still states invalid....any suggetions?

Guest cerberus_uk Posted April 19, 2004 Report Posted April 19, 2004 Which rom did you find gave the best performance?
Guest indiekiduk Posted April 19, 2004 Report Posted April 19, 2004 Doesnt work for me. I have an imate2 and have tried orange uk v2.6.1.3 and swiss 2.6.5.3 and a voyager one and all display error "INCOMPATIBLE IMAGE"
Guest XPhoneGeek Posted April 21, 2004 Report Posted April 21, 2004 I've had this issue too. When I upgraded from the original O2 Xphone ROM to the Orange Update the first few attempts gave me the imcompatible image problem. What I did to resolve it was STOP everything that was running in my system tray. No matter how remotely related it seemed to be I stopped it, then I went through task manager & stopped any processes that I didn't recognize as being system processes. That's what worked for me SD card in or out. Since then I have upgraded from the Orange ROM to the QTEK 8060 image using the same process & it worked 1st time. That's my 02 (no pun intended)... :D
