Guest morpheus2702 Posted April 11, 2004 Report Posted April 11, 2004 Do you guys have any advice on which PDA to get? I'm looking for a replacement for beloved Ipaq 3630 and will be mainly using it to take notes and surf wirelessly (i.e. needs to have Bluetooth). Budget £170-£250 and must be Windows Mobile. The Ipaq range still appeals but I'm unfamiliar with the three ranges (19xx, 22xx and 41xx) so if anyone can advise me what is what, it'd be much appreciated.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted April 11, 2004 Report Posted April 11, 2004 The 4150 (http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=107956) is VERY nice. Not much bigger than a 1940 and onboard wifi and bt. That's the one i'd go for if i were getting one now.
Guest idavid Posted April 11, 2004 Report Posted April 11, 2004 yes, listen to mono! i have a 4150 and it is fantastic. every feature going and so so small and light, and like he says expansys has it damn cheap.
Guest morpheus2702 Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 The 4150 is nice but I don't really need the WiFi, but granted there are some deals on Expansys. I confused at where the 1940 and 2210 are pitched, as they seem to do the same job for the same money? Also Expansys are offering (what I assume is) US spec 2210's for £175? Is there any disadvantage in going for the US spec machine, aside from needing a power adaptor? Thing is, I am itching to get my hands on a machine today.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 I have just changed from an Axim X5 to an h2210 but I insist on having dual slot so I can have wireless and gps etc while still having decent storage.
Guest morpheus2702 Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 Ordered a HP1940 from Watford Electonics - £180 all in. As much as I would like a XDAII, I look at every camera phone now and think 'hmm, 0.3 megapixel? Nah, I'll wait!'
Guest morpheus2702 Posted April 18, 2004 Report Posted April 18, 2004 Second question - can anyone recommend any good Pocket PC forums (but not ones that concentrate on PPC Smartphones)?
Guest Vector Posted April 18, 2004 Report Posted April 18, 2004 Pocket PC Thoughts is very good and.... awarner tells me that HP have a very good forum :D
Guest Ricard00 Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 I have an HP Jornada which is lovely, but the screen is not great outdoors in bright sunlight. Other than that it's lovely.
