Autoconnect

I'm using an Orange SPV E200. I have linked it up to my computer via the USB cradle, and I'm using Activesync V3.7.1 build 3244.

I'm blown away by what this phone can do but it does one very annoying thing.

Every time I place it in the cradle my computer decides it needs to connect to the internet.

Does anyone know how to stop it from doing this? I can't find any settings for it in Activesync and I've tried looking through Outlook too but no luck.

sounds like you have avantgo set up to sync with the phone. To disable it in active sync goto tools//options// then untick the box new to avant go.

Does outlook need to connect to the internet to connect to your e-mail account eg a microsoft exchange account etc? If so, activesync will prompt outlook to connect to that e-mail (and calender, contacts etc) account so it can sync. This was the case with me; I set up a second e-mail account on my computer that didn't have any actual e-mail; it just served as an offline account to sync contacts and calendar with. When I put the phone in the holder, a box asks me which account to sync with - it doesn't try to connect to the internet when I choose the "spoof" offline account... hope that makes sense?

Sorry guys neither solutions work. I've never encountered avantgo before. I also tried setting up a spoof account - my attempt failed, it still tried to connect about fifty times when I "cradled". I may have f**ckd up setting it up. Do you mean set up an account in Outlook, if so what connection settings do I make - or do I make it the default mail account - how do I make it an offline account?

Something else I noticed. When it tries to connect it says:

A Program has requested information form isatap. Which connection would you like to use (then it lists my connectiocs).

Any ideas?
