Improving reception on MPX200!

I had the generic firmware installed and the reception was great, then I installed a program that froze the phone and it would not start up correctly, so I did a hard reset on the phone.

Now the reception is terrible, everytime i hold the phone the reception drops to one bar or no bars at all. (Using T-mobile in the USA)

I flashed with the same firmware again, but it still has bad reception.

What do i do?

I dont think i had a program or extra settings that improve the phones reception..

What program did you install to mess the phone up?

I have not heard of any differences in signal strength with current

rom versions, so as David said could be a transmitter fault :?

This has just hit my phone after the hard reset and the second time flashing.

another possibility would be the phone's ariel may be damged or knackered?

i am just thinking of the possibilities that could cause this...

Ok getting much better singal now.

here is what i did.

-Took out the battery and SIM card for 5 min

-Installed Caller ID

-Added one mor #

now Im at full signal all over the house and basement.
