Guest squall Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 With thanks to midnight for pointing me towards this: Completely re-written Liberty for ARM processors coming Posted by: [meiam] on 04-12-2004 @ 04:54 PM Gambit Studios, the developer of the famous Liberty Palm OS GameBoy emulator, have announced they are currently working on a new ARM-native version of Liberty. The new Liberty will rejoice the user with full speed, GameBoy Color emulation, and support for Hi-Res, as well as improved sound, support for memory cards, multiple save game states and full SRAM support. Moreover, the revamped emulator will run not on Palm OS 5 only, but will also support Windows Mobile, Symbian and Windows Mobile for Smartphone. Since this is a complete re-write of the main code, the emulator will be released as new product, but Gambit Studios is likely to provide a discount to existing Liberty owners. At the moment the company is working with its lawyers to address new legal requirements due to Nintendo’s patent for emulation announced recently. As soon as this is complete, they will be ready to release. Source pdalive.com
Guest agent.m Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 nice one! which means gameboy color games will work that bit faster
Guest squall Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 Sure will, however its likely to be sold, rather than be freeware.
Guest agent.m Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 yeah! figured that. just as long as i can play cannon fodder and puyo puyo at faster speeds :D and its under £10. not asking for much ;)
Guest nato Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 Support for memory cards? I think for those that have upgraded its one that will be of no use at all! It would help if the OS recognised the SD card in the first place! Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest Crispy Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 At last! GBC at full speed! ... Now, about that GBA emulator ... :D
Guest londonlad Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 i wish they'ed do the SNES one instead  , as fast as they can, gameboy games are just too basic and i get bout 40 to 60 fps on nintendo games (mario, wario, etc) anyways.
Guest djboo Posted April 20, 2004 Report Posted April 20, 2004 snes emu will always be hard - the custom hardware in that box REALLY rocks. master system emu would be nice - similar (or less) spec than a NES/GBC - but a whole new arena of games - like sonic etc. as for being sold - i LOVE the smartphone scene for that, nothing is ever very expensive. Shareaza hasnt been opened in months and i have loads of legal software. Hazaa.
