Guest daveydm196324 Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 I have tried to application unlock my e200 today but have experienced a problem on the last stage. On the orange developers site after I had the message on my phone successful de cert it states to run the CMD prompt command and type the commands it states, but I cant complete this final part I just get error messages saying windows dosent recognise the prompt. Also is there any where I can get a idiots guide as to how i down load a home screen onto my spv, sorry for asking basic questions davey
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 run cmd prompt? never had that when I decerted an e200 the otherday?
Guest daveydm196324 Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 how can i tell if the de cert has been successful as i dont know how to even download a homescreen which presumably needs to be de cert to do this davey
Guest Vector Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 try installing a .cab homescreen. like one of mine in my sig or one by midnight etc. which skins extra screens like startup shutdown etc. from the customisations - homescreen forum :D to install, explore on your phone over activesync to Storagewindowsstart menu and put it there, now run it from the phone, and if it gives an error about permissions then the unlock hasn't worked.... ;)
Guest daveydm196324 Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 thanks for the reply, but could you explain step by step how to download a home screen, have had a go it opens a prog called win zip when i download i choose to save it to my desktop as a win zip file but cant convert it from a winzip onto the phone i apologise for being so dumb but wish to take advantage of these fabulos home screens davey
Guest Vector Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 1)Download the .cab file to your desktop 2)Don't open the .cab file, leave it as it is, Connect your phone to activesync and click "Explore" button on activesync 3)Click "My Smartphone", then "storage", then "windows" and then finally "start menu" 4)Place the .cab file into that folder 5)Run the .cab file on your phone by selecting it from your start menu... Hope that helps... :D
