Should the MPX200 be pulled?

I've had 3 MPX200s in the past, all with faults. Its quite obvious that this product is flawed. The bulk of the threads on the MPX section are regarding problems.

Some of the common things that'll happen to your MPX:

- The plastic covers (headphone and SD slot) breaking.

- The simcard placeholder breaking.

-Numberous software faults, ie: not reading sim, able to answer calls and my personal favorite freezing on startscreen.

The list goes on....

What you don't see is the list of people who don't have a single problem. I am completely happy with the MPx200. I has a SPV before it, and tried to use a Developers phone, but ended up going back to the MPx200. Most of the problems I have read about the MPx200 are trivial, such as the plasctic covers breaking. As far as Smartphones go, it is one of the best.

I disagree - there are many happy mpx200 users (even bill gates is reported to have one!)

Remember people tend to only post with problems, there are many users who are happy and have no need to post.

I think the faults you picked up are fairly minor - the benefits of the device outweigh the device faults/shortcomings.

Fair points made, maybe I was just unlucky.

Glad there some people out threre with fault free MPXs.

PS. The volume button still sucks tho.

Only had the sim lugs break but a bit of paper sorted that, apart from that I have never had a problem with mine, even though I have ripped it apart a few times :D

Most of these problems can be adressed to the user not the phone. The phone works perfect for me. I've been using one for quite some time now.

i too have had the problem of not answering incoming calls if on the other line. it's maddening. this is my business phone. so answering incoming calls is required. sometimes, i want to chuck it against the wall, as hard as I can.

the only reason i bought it is because it had the lowest sar rating of any us phone. in spite of this major prob, my girlf still wants one, again bc of the sar rating.

Intially i had a few problems which i believe is related to the mms s/w.

did a hard reset. never installed mms now.... working fine. mms aint really impt to me.

i change frm a 2day old xphone for this. thought xphone has a cam and win mobile 2003, this is so much better

battery life is good........ looks nicer...... smaller to hold...

I have yet to see a phone that I would swap my MPx200 for; it's as simple as that.

The only problem I've had, apart from only a couple of days battery life, is having to do a single hard reset about 2 weeks after I got the phone- immediately after unlocking it and piling every piece of uncertified software I could find onto the phone (SD card and IPSM) without soft resetting at any stage... I don't think you can blame the phone for that!
