Just got the following apparently "Urgent E-mail from Orange"

Hello,

To continue to provide the high level of service we currently offer for Orange Email, we will be implementing the size limit on Orange Email mailboxes.

The limit is 10Mb (10,000Kb). You can check the size of your inbox and folders once you have signed in, by clicking on 'manage folders'. If the sum of your inbox and folders is over 10,000Kb in total you will need to delete some of your emails.

If you are not able to delete emails, we will automatically delete them for you, starting with the oldest first. Therefore if you wish to save certain emails please ensure your folders total less than 10Mb (10,000Kb), this includes your inbox, sent items, deleted items and folders.

Automatic clearing of mailboxes will start from 26th April so you have time to check and manage your emails.

Automatic deleting is welcome since I can't get the normal delete function to work

My orange email is full of spam.

I get about 200+ junk emails a day. Anyone else with this problem?

I've been trying to systematically block spam senders, but they don't have this function on the mobile version and it's never really stopped them anyway. I may change e-mail address if it gets too bad.

BTW Is anyone else irritated by the Orange World e-mail interface saying 'Trash' for the deleted items folder? "Would you like to empty the Trash?" Ok I know what it means, but it's just not a word in common usage in the UK!

The orange email site is being overhauled and the email limit is the first part you will be seeing. they have stopped all new registrations and will also only allow Orange user's the ability to use the site.

i also heard a rumour that certain parts of the service will become chargable (such as calender functions).

if i hear any more i can keep you updated.

i recently had to change my email address (talk21 stoped pop3 access) and someone suggested www.fastmail.fm ----it rocks--and im only on the free version---no spam at all if your thinking of changing id give this a look (no pop3 for users on the free system but there is IMAP4 which is much better anyway IMO)
