I know there's a link in the forum that guide us in details on how to compress huge avi files to small using Virtual Dub :D

But i am facing some serious problem with the sound compressing parts....guide claims that that it should be 16kbit/s 16 hz, But there arent no such default setting under mp3 leyer  and i had tryed using 16kibt/s 16000hz........but it turn out that that the player cant play the file due to Audio Error

I also see that the setting 16kbit/s 16hz is under mpeg player audio 1....but in the end when i try to save it, it cant be done.

Please kindly assist in more details and perhars can show me the direct link on more information regarding this Issue.....lastly, i also cant seems to find " hows to remove my IA Display programe" which will help in my battery lasting for my O2 xphone

1. Try 16 kBit/s, 12,000 Hz, Mono 2KB/s (this should work.....)

2. You need to go to storagewindowsStartUp using active sync and remove the IACallerID shortcut (cant remember the exact name)

P.S. Welcome to the site :D

It could also be that your MP3 codec doesn't suppotr bit-rates that low (Some only support the 'POPULAR' sizes).

My best bet is to do a search on google for 'Radium MP3 Codec'. That should sort out all your headaches (Well, its the one I use after the LAME codec refuses to behave).

OK, I can think of three possible reasons for this.

1) Your MP3 codec is knackered and/or doesn't support the low bit-rates (It shouldn't mention them in that case but...). Try reinstalling your codec and see if tht helps.

2) You have Windows XP and have installed another MP3 codec. As Windows XP already comes with a limited MP3 codec, when you try to save with your 'unlimited' codec, it crashes. The easiest way to fix this is to disable the MS codec. To do this, go to Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager -> Sound, video and game controllers -> Audio Codecs -> Properties. Locate the Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Layer-3 Codec (advanced), go into its properties and choose 'Do not use this codec'.

Note: If you have two Fraunhofer MP3 codecs, one advanced and one professional, you probably have the Radium MP3 codec pack. ONLY DISABLE THE ADVANCED VERISON. Disabling both will probably make your machine unable to play or encode MP3's!!!!

3) You're making an incorrect setting VirtualDub (Easily done) or your PC is knackered in some fashion (I once had all my video codecs switch with my audio codecs, so I had DivX sound and MP3 video. It took a format and reinstall to fix that one!)

Hope this helps,
