Random ring tones - is it possible with Smartphones ?

this might not be so difficult to program for an experienced programmer, anyway a useful idea (as I do not know any existing program fulfilling this purpose):

Is it possible to have several ringtone files on your Smartphone and select a number of these files - and not just one single - as your ringtones ?

This would have the effect that you are not hearing just one single ringtone for all incoming calls but there is a pool of tones which are selected at random by some utility.

So my questions:

* Is there an existing function that fulfills this purpose ?

* Does anyone know if such a utility is being programmed by anybody right now or is anyone of the programmers among us capable of contributing such a utility to the community ?

P.S.

The Nokia phones had a functionality called Closed User Groups enabling allocating certain ringtones to certain people/groups. This is not what I mean. The ringtone should vary from call to call and not depending on the caller and you should be able to define a list of your favorite rintone files which are then selected either on random or in series.
