Guest philiphgray Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 I've noticed some odd behavior with my smartphone in relation to ISA server. My "host" pc running activesync 3.7.1 is on a network behind an ISA Server and has the ISA firewall client installed. Whenever I connect my phone to activesync (over bluetooth) it seems to acquire proxy settings for my ISA server from the host PC and creates 2 new entries in the proxy connections list (for web proxy and socks proxy). If I then try to connect to the internet, while activesynced from pIE it still tries to dial a GPRS connection. If I then disconnect activesync and try to connect, it again tries to establish a GPRS connection, but fails Anyone know what is going on with this? Now the rant. I'm absolutely sick of the endless connection hassles that I have with Smartphone / Pocketpc. I cannot believe the complete hash MS have made of dialup networking in windows mobile. Whats wrong with the DUN model they've been using for the desktop OS? Simple, effective and relatively transparent. The mobile versions just suck - hidden settings, more complexity, less managability and less stability. Is it just me, or do they need to sort this out?
