Guest IronHide Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 So, I'm just getting around to wondering what exactly the Sim Toolkit app does. Have this STK Service app on my XPhone, there is a shortcut in the Starup folder and everything, but when I try to launch the app, all I get is a blank screen with "Select" and "Exit" options for the softbuttons. Unfortunately, there is nothing to select. -What is the intended function of the application? -Anyway I can get it to work? -Any thirdparty software to repalce this with? I assume you can use it to copy contacts to and from SIM/Phone as well as (maybe?) SMSs...but mine no worky. I did a search but couldn't find much on this one. Thanks!
Guest ferret Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 It's my belief that this app sits on the new update SIM which Orange are currently sending out to people. It runs quite slow so you could just wait for a bit but anyway, There's three menu options, (1) Call Orange (2) Information (3) Group Text (1) Allows you to call different Orange Services (Cust Serv, Answerphone etc) (2) Allows you to request those expensive information SMSs (3) Can create 10 groups to send multiple texts
Guest IronHide Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 So, since I do not have an E200, nor the Orange rom installed on my phone, does this mean my version of the Sim Toolkit doesn't work?? Anyone else w/ an XPhone + original rom have this problem?
Guest ferret Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 As I said I think the app is on the SIM, so you might just have the shortcut but an old SIM. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest IronHide Posted April 20, 2004 Report Posted April 20, 2004 Does this mean I can remove the "STK_Service.lnk" file from the StartUp folder with no negative effects? I guess if the app doesn't work with my SIM, then there isn't any real reason for it to be there, right? Thanks!
