Guest JPo_23 Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 I want to edit the default Orange homescreen xml file (WindowsOrangeHomescreen.Home.xml), but activesync wont let me copy it to my pc - (Executable and resource files in ROM cannot be copied). Is there anyway around this? - I know I can put the tweaked xml in application datahome afterwards under a different name and select it as a different homescreen layout - so I dont need to be able to write to ROM, just get a copy of the file in the first place. Of course I could create a new homescreen from scratch... but i'd rather not have to learn how to do that .
Guest crafty Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 To copy files out of the ROM your phone needs to be application unlocked (click on this link >> OTA I'm assuming that you're talking about an Orange E200 so I've attached a copy of the origional orange homescreen, and a slightly tweaked version (OrangeHomescreen2) that gets rid of that nasty grey and changes some of the web links. Hope this helps!Orange Home Screens.zip
Guest londonlad Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 IMO the orange e200 homescreen is the best one, was there a e100 one? anyone know how to change the orange icons? i wanna put some nice new ones in
Guest JPo_23 Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 Thanks crafty, that's exactly what I was after. I've managed to change the font size for the date and time, but anything over 16 and the date starts disappearing off the edge of the screen. I've had a look through the xml but I can't see how to change the alignment in order to avoid this. Also, which one of the color name settings applies to the date and time text?
