Guest roozbeh Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 Hi.... i've managed to install some cab file that is home screens but it doesnt ask me to install them on storage card..why? also can i install home screens on storage as i've got very little space on main.... Thanks
Guest Vector Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 you can't instalol homescreens on storage card... as the phone won't find them
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 .hme files will only install to the phone, only homescreen pictures can be placed in your storage card in the My Documents folder. .hme contain the xml code for the actual layout of the home screen, this must be on the phone and not the card.
Guest roozbeh Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 so is there anyprogram that change them and delete those not installed from ipsm? i mean what do you do so....you try to connect phone to pc from day to day and change homescreens? i think i've read somewhere ppl try to chnge them on schedule...so how many they have stored on phone to schedule it?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 You could try Jeyo Persnalizer, this works well and allows you to preview the themes before using them. http://www.jeyo.com/products/JeyoPersonalizer.asp
Guest ChrisJM Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 well, when someone makes a homescreens they can set it so every file goes on the sd other than xml so just ask the creator :D Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest roozbeh Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 tnx for tip!... i try with Richie M for LongHorn as it gots a lot of files....
Guest Vector Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 you would have to edit the xml on the longhorn skin for the images to go to the sd (if that is possible? :? ) Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 I would not try and have all those images on the storage card, if you removed the card or the phone stops reading it because of low power then the fun begins :D
Guest roozbeh Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 if phone goes low in batry then it stops reading sd?? but what do you guys do for changing home screens...they took a lot space on your phone....
Guest Vector Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 i just put them on the phone.... Just don't put too many :D
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 18, 2004 Report Posted April 18, 2004 and uninstall the ones you don't use. You will find after a while you do not change the homescreens that often as the novelty wears off. It's still nice to change them once in a while though.
Guest ChrisJM Posted April 18, 2004 Report Posted April 18, 2004 Well, if you use extra screen skins/homescreens you should only have one at a time!
