Guest carvas Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 hi, i would like to know if there's any kind of program that would let me EDIT my Excel, Word or Power Point files directly in my smartphone. i have ClearVue but it's a read only program... Thanks. Regards!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 Nope there are viewers but no editors, which is one thing I really need to have :D
Guest carvas Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 yeah, me too... :D yesterday i was with a SonyEricsson p800 with a word and excel editors/viewers (QuickOffice) and i was really amazed... even the Nokia 9210 brick had that too... :x i don't understand why nobody devolpes a software like that... Regards.
Guest Disco Stu Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 Given what you've just said, plus Microsoft involvement, plus Orange marketing SmartPhones to the business user it's ridiculous
Guest carvas Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 MS Smartphones have almost 2 years of existence and nobody made an effort to make a software like that... damn, isn't Microsoft Office of MICROSOFT? :x why other smartphones can edit, creat and open Office documents and my Microsoft Smartphone can only open them? i really love my phone, but i think this would make me really really porud of having it... well... let's hope that someone gives us a hand :D
Guest squall Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 i agree its really not a good situation. i hope microsoft do something about it, rather than waiting for a third party developer to - it must be an issue that effects the success of the smartphone market.
Guest carvas Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 it must be an issue that effects the success of the smartphone market. Squall i agree 100%. i think it would be rather "easy" to Microsoft to implement a software like that... but i think Mr. Bill Gates doesn't pay too much attention to the MS Smartphones market... (BTW Final Fantasy VIII - the best game i ever played  )
Guest squall Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 i think it would be rather "easy" to Microsoft to implement a software like that... but i think Mr. Bill Gates doesn't pay too much attention to the MS Smartphones market... Its reported that Bill gates has a mpx200 actually... Guess he doesnt use office on the go!
Guest carvas Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 well he may have a mpx200 and a lot more other phones :D but i saw some interviews to Bill Gates in CNN and he almost ignored the MS Smartphone market and talked about everything else... :?
Guest JoelRae Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 Guess he doesnt use office on the go! Bet he could do with a version of ms money though
Guest mcwarre Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 Bet he could do with a version of ms money though  Can it count that high :?: :?:
Guest carvas Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 LOL :D he would need a Smartphone with 128 Storage memory to have his money information...
Guest humz Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 I assume you've all voted at the following thread? Poll: Would you be interested in a spreadsheet editing program for Windows powered smartphones?
Guest Vector Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 That is the one thing i use my pocket pc for over my smartphone...word and excel editing etc. :D
Guest squall Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 that thread is a few months old now. What we would need would a petition like the one for flat rate gprs, and the support of a few friendly mvps to put pressure on the correct people i think.
