qtek 8080 upgrade vs E200 upgrade

Any one have idea ? which is latest ROM and what are the enhancements and disadvantages of both ROM upgrades?

tried both, much prefer the qtek rom. make sure you write down your gprs and mms settings though.

But it is advised that you stick to your own carriers updates ;)

So if you are on orange uk, i would advise sticking to orange uk updates :D

Yea, the Orange and The Qtek are very similar but stick to your carrier...

Hi all,

I have a qtek 8080 and i use the orange rom.

This is mainly because i love the shortcuts on the e200 rom default home screen.

I tried the last qtek rom but it's very buggy compared to the orange rom.

Battery also seems better than with the 8080 rom.

But i recommend upgrading only to your operator/manufacturer rom. Imagine a scenario where your phone stops booting for some reason and not even with a hard-reset solves the problem. What are you going to say to the tech support when they see other rom??? :D

Also the work it will give you restoring all your mms/sms/email/etc.../etc...

Once again, why this "stick to your carrier" statement? The core OS is identicle across the O2 Xphone, the E200, the QTEK 8080 & the iMate Smartphone 2 the differences appear in the carrier's choice of add-ons & pre-defined connection settings. I have an O2 Xphone & so far it's run the original O2 Rom, the Orange Rom & the QTEK Rom, all have behaved in a similar fashion, subtle differences at the GUI & T9 is all I see.
