Guest Panja Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 Just to let you guys know. I tried the UK Rom and now the Dutch Rom. The Dutch version has an extra application which the UK rom didn't have. PV Player 3.3 (build 108) PV Player stands for Packet Video Player. Also I think the volume with the Dutch update is a little louder. Not a lot more than the UK one but a little. Just my 2 cents. Cheers Panja
Guest Vector Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 what formats does the video player play? :D
Guest Panja Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 Don't know (yet), I heard it plays mpeg4 but I'm not sure...
Guest Vector Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 It may just be a version of the emblaze player renamed :D
Guest ChrisJM Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 if it plays mpeg4 how would you fit them on your phone/sd card?! :D

Guest drblow Posted April 18, 2004 Report Posted April 18, 2004 sorry to drag this back on topic, but how is the dutch update for problems like sd card recognition, lock ups, battery life? Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest Posted April 18, 2004 Report Posted April 18, 2004 Hello, the PacketVideo Player isn't some renamed player, it is a streaming video player from PacketVideo and is capable of playing mpeg4 file format. It exists for Windows OS, Windows Mobile 2002/2003 (PocketPC), Symbian OS and MS Smartphone. The latest version (for Smartphones) is afaik 3.31. Regards G
Guest Vector Posted April 18, 2004 Report Posted April 18, 2004 thanks for clearing that up :D Seconding what dr blow said, has it got any problems that are in the UK update, such as what dr blow said?
Guest Disco Stu Posted April 18, 2004 Report Posted April 18, 2004 I'm pretty sure that packet video player was available for download from the Orange site last year. I seem to remember it was a Simon Desser spot and I had it on my phone but uninstalled it because of the lack of use and potential costs compared to straight download of clips. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest ChrisJM Posted April 18, 2004 Report Posted April 18, 2004 Really, il have a look to see if i can find it :D
Guest Panja Posted April 19, 2004 Report Posted April 19, 2004 I don't have any lockups (sofar...) Battery life is a little better than the UK I think but not much better. Battery life still could be a lot better...
Guest Disco Stu Posted April 19, 2004 Report Posted April 19, 2004 That Packet Video player... The one I was thinking of originally was the Emblaze one. This is the real one :D http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php...ht=packet+video
