Guest evilminky Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 just wonderin also does the current version work better on mpx200 than spv?
Guest Vector Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 I think it should work better on MPx200 than original SPV as the MPx200 has more memory (?) :D
Guest midnight Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 i'll have a word with muff about it, he released his version just before exo (he actually had it running 6 moths before that, but thought it wasnt worth releasing with it being about 4fps or something), so he wont be contginuing where exo left off, but be continuing with his version, but as far as we can tell, getting more speed out of it is pretty much a waste of time, the only way it will get considerably better is by waiting for the next gen of ms smartphones with faster processors.

Thats fantastic news, i remeber seeing & playing muff's version of Quake at the Birmingham MoDaCo meet and being really impressed, cant wait to get hold of his version again :D after my disappointment of the other one :|
Guest Vector Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 mono has that version on his site ;) Has muff done anything on it since that version? :D
Guest midnight Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 no, we've been working on other games, which you know all too well David :D
Guest Vector Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 no, we've been working on other games, which you know all too well David :D ohhh yeh, of course, the bejeweled clone! I can't wait for that ;)
Guest roozbeh Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 but as i looked in sources most of floating point math are remained same..... as i have had lots of experience in working with math things on x86 cpus i know changing them to some more efficent things can save lots of fps... but the problem is i dont know arm assembly language and also not good on 3d calcs...but i am sure(as i seen code)lots of changes can be made so easily....for example sqrt and lots of things like this remains as "TODO:chnge to btr thing" ot "TODO:slow".....
Guest exosyphen Posted April 23, 2004 Report Posted April 23, 2004 There is also a lot of code overhead that needs to be killed. Quake is a great benchmark for mobile phones.
