Guest AngelOfRage Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 Ive got a UK SPV (updated to 1.6 acouple of months ago). suddenly last night it will not turn on, it just sits on the Orange sunrise screen. Ive tried to do a hard reset but it just goes straight to the canary MV screen and does not give me the option to wipe the memory. any ideas on this one?
Guest Vector Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 hmm, sounds dodgy, have you got orange care?
Guest AngelOfRage Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 no they wouldn't allow me to have it because its not the phone i got with the contract. it just seems really strange as ive done nothing that could have triggered it.
Guest Vector Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 if nothing else works i suppose you could send it off to hayes... Why can't you do a hard reset? click on the words above for a guide to help^^ :D
Guest martin Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 Ive tried to do a Hard Reset but it just goes straight to the canary MV screen and does not give me the option to wipe the memory. It should allow you enter the bootloader menu :? First make sure the phone is disconnected from the USB/power cable. When you see 'Press any key', you must press and hold the action key. If you press any other key by accident (including up/down/left or right) it will go straight to the canary screen.
Guest Vector Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 and it helps to have an SD Card in :D gives you more time to enter bootloader ;)
Guest AngelOfRage Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 ok thx it let me hard reboot the 5th time i tried. panic over... mods you can lock or delete this thread if you want.
Guest AngelOfRage Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 Yeah sorry, its working fine. its just abit worrying that it can happen without me doing anything to it. is this due to the 1.6 update being unstable?
Guest wolmannn Posted May 8, 2004 Report Posted May 8, 2004 Thought I should say that the reboot takes much longer than usual. I thought it had crashed again, stick with it.
Guest squall Posted May 15, 2004 Report Posted May 15, 2004 after a hard reset the initial boot will take longer, not only that on first boot the phone will run some checks then restart. this is normal :)
