Hi, I have over 10 mb of internal storage in my MPX200. I would like a drag a song to the internal memory on the phone (rather than the storage card) but when I drag it, it says "there is not enough space". Anybody can help me? Thanks in advance.

Using an app like Task Manager how much of the following do you have?

IPSM

Physical Memory

How large is the music file ou are trying to copy over and what location are you trying to use?

I still have 10.17 MB on storage memory and 11.91 MB on program memory. IPSM flash free memory is 6.78MB.

The song that I am going to drag is about 3MB. I did manage to drag it over to phone memory but for some reason it is taking up the IPSM flash memory instead of the storage memory. I tried to drag it to IPSM/Documents. Should I drag the song elsewhere in order to use the storage memory? Thanks in advance.

Ok lets clear some memory specs up :D

You have the ROM this is where the main Windows folder

lives with the OS,

Then you have IPSM this is the phones storage, (same as the hard drive on your PC) so anything you place on the

phone WILL be put on the IPSM.

Finaly you have the Physical memory, this is the same as the memory on your PC.

The easiest way to view your storage and memory availability is to use the app I mentioned in the first reply

Task Manager this can be downloaded from www.binarys.com

You would be better off placing the music on a storage card as it's advisable to keep the phones memory as free as possible.

As long as they are in wmv format the media player should

be able to find them.

I normally store them in a folder called Movies

Hi awarner,

I'm also confused about the memory on my MPx200.

I've downloaded SP Task Manager and under the system status tab it shows that I have 17.77M of Phys Mem, 10.29M on IPSM and whatever size storage card you have installed.

However, I also have a System Info app that came preinstalled on my phone. This is what Brian was talking about. Under the heading of RAM there are 3 entries: Total, Program and Storage. Under the heading of Flash there are 2 entries: Internal and SD Card.

Now then, Internal obviously is the same as IPSM in SP Task Manager and Program matches with Phys. Mem. But what does the 10.6M that is called Storage refer to? This brings up the Total RAM to 28.4M (17.8 + 10.6).

Hope that is clear.

I had to reinstall the app to check, and now I remember why I removed it :D

What it appears to be refering to is the ROM memory that the

OS etc are installed to. It's a bit pointless refering to is as it is not accessable.

The Binarys Task Manager is one of the best apps to give you the information you need.

Oh, one question about Binarys Task Manager, it doesn't look like you can kill a single task without bringing up the "File" menu and selecting "Quit application".

For example, "Bring to front", "Quit non sys apps" and "Quit apps then TM" all have shortcut keys. Why not "Quit application"??

Thanks.

I am so used to doing it that way never really thought about it.

You could suggest it in the Binarys section of the site :D
