Guest dongo Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 HI dumb question of the month. Is there a way to use my Motorola MPX200 to access USB drives? Or is active Sync the only method to access external content. I have a honking 40 GB usb drive that would make a cool music/film store but dont know if I can spoof the USB controller to get a file system? Thanks dongo "the amazed yank"
Guest Vector Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 i've not seen a way.. Do you mean you want to access conetent on ur Hard Drive from ur phone?
Guest MECX Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 wow that would be a good idea---i think he means like a USB key type device davidrm. No way to do that at the minute and it might not be possible due to the MPX USB port only being a slave port. 8)
Guest dongo Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 Yeah The only constraint I can see is that we are limited by the paltry max 1 gb of SD cards. I have a 40 gb usb drive (which if I could access it via my MXP200 usb port) would give me the ability to store great movies, music, and applications on my HD and use them on the phone. or thumb drives, ir other USB enables drives or content like WQiFi devices
Guest JoelRae Posted April 19, 2004 Report Posted April 19, 2004 :D this was my first ever question on MoDaCo... apparently even if the mpx200 port was 2-way, it has no drivers for usb devices
