Does anyone have a copy of the Orange Firmware for Motorola MPX200 which they can either send me or do they know where i can download it??

Thanks,

Mark.

It's not available for download as an update has never been released.

And as it has never been updated there would be little point in them releasing the original for download.

Not to sound like to much of a jerk..........why would you not run a back up first before flash?

I know it's a simple thing to do but so many have been bitten by this same thing.

May be of no use and not having a smartphone....yet

Is there a factory back up on disk? Did you get a cd in the original package?

I know with my Casio BE 300 there is a factory restore on the disk with all the other software.

Nope nothing like that at all on the cd and regarding your first reply it is not possible to back up the rom on the MPX at the moment without specialized software. As far as the phone is concerned the current flashed ROM is the factory default.

The only way you can get the phone flashed again would be to send it away, I believe Hayes deals with the mpx on behalf of Orange and motorola in the UK.

If you want to send the phone back I presume that is for a warranty claim?

the problem is as I'm sure you have realised is flashing the phone with a non Orange update has invalidated your warranty. :?

Have you tried flashing it again with the same Motorola rom? or doing a hard reset (a few times?)

I also have an Orange MPx200 which i flashed with the original rom and have no problems whatsoever about starting up or shutting down.

The only downsides i can see about the Motorola rom is that i lost Orange Backup and Orange Update. never did use them anyway so it doesnt really matter.
