Guest j_sincla Posted April 18, 2004 Report Posted April 18, 2004 Hi I have an E200 (updated with latest ROM) and have paired it successfully with the bluetooth mouse (which works fine with my Pocket PC and TomTom) I have enabled BT Serial Ports under Configurations - both inbound and outbound. I have set Mapolopis to Com7 and Autobaud. Also COm6 and Autobaud and both Com ports and 4800bps. Nothing works - the GPS Status just stays on Checking COM?...no connection so to speak I have rebooted and tried this to. The Socket GPS defnitely has a fix as it's flashing green and blue as per normal Any suggestions?
Guest Rusty Posted April 18, 2004 Report Posted April 18, 2004 You haven't actually said whether or not you've 'bonded' your BT GPS with the SPV, you need to bond it in the same way as you would a headset. Just an idea and if you've already done it then sorry i dunno :D Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest j_sincla Posted April 18, 2004 Report Posted April 18, 2004 Yeah. As I said I paired it (bonded in SPV terms)
Guest Rusty Posted April 18, 2004 Report Posted April 18, 2004 Sorry fella, re-read your post and you quite clearly stated that you paired it. Um, assuming you have actually turned BT on (not trying to call you thick but sometimes the simplest things are missed by the best of us :D) then all i can suggest is you find somebody near to you with an E200 and a BT GPS and see if yours works with theirs and vice versa. I am nr Leeds/Wakefield if it is any help.
Guest j_sincla Posted April 20, 2004 Report Posted April 20, 2004 One of those things... Uninstalled Mapopolis Deleteing the pairing and re-paired Re-installed Mapopolis Works fine on COM7: Thanks for your help. What a great application Mapopolis is!
Guest smithgt Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 This interesting as I have had the same problem in that I can't get my BT mouse to talk to mapopolis. I'll give the uninstall, unbond, and reinstall option a go. Did you remove the maps too?
Guest Will Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 the problem may have been that you need to enable the bluetooth ports BEFORE bonding with the device. Will
Guest smithgt Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 Is there any easy way to tell if the BT deivce has been found and that it's actually talking to my handset? I have been into Start, Settings, Bluetooth and have this turned on. If I select menu and remove the bonded device I can see to re-add it. I have BT set to COM6 and COM7. When in Mapopolis I have tried COM6 and COM7 - but nothing seems to be happening. On occasion the entire phone ginds to a halt and run very very very slowly - the only woy out of this is to power the phone off and start again.
Guest smithgt Posted May 21, 2004 Report Posted May 21, 2004 After a little more playing it seems that the E200 needed to re-bond with the BT GPS each time. Also it helps if the GPS can actually see soem satelites - ie be near a window.
