Hello guys,

I want to install the new smartexplorer.

But every time with the installation i get the message:

smartexplorer is not installed.

Then i tried to remove the older version, because i think that's the problem, but i cant remove it!!

I also isn't loaded in the memory, so that can't be it.

The only thing I can think of is that:

My phone was installed with an old rom. With this smartexplorer.

Then I updated it to the newest dutch version.

And maybe that's the problem, that i cant remove smartexplorer??

does anybody know what to do??

It could be due to an erased SmartExplorer entry in your AppMgr folder.

I have experienced that before when I removed all the contents of my AppMgr...good thing I was able to make a backup of the files in my PC.

So how did I solved the problem?...

I copied the backup AppMgr files back to IPSMWindowsAppMgr

:D

Just checking :

1. have you application unlocked your phone again after loading the new ROM ? The new ROM should lock the phone again.

2. do you have the Install folder inside AppMgr ? This should be empty.

Otherwise I don't see why you can't just reinstall the original version of Smart Explorer, as Squall suggested :?

I'm not trying to wind you up here mate  but I was under the impression that loading a new ROM had the same effect as doing a hard reset, ie: back to factory conditions. Therefore surely all traces of Smart Explorer would have been removed.

If your phone is suggesting that this is not the case, perhaps you need to reload the ROM again (maybe it partially failed) or do a hard reset.

Do you see where I'm coming from ?

That's true, but a backuped the files before I did a rom update and then I copied the backup back to the phone.

How do I do a hard reset, and what will happen??

Will al the things in settings, remove software, all be gone??

Thanks for helping!!! ;)

Click this ---> HARD RESET

It will restore your IPSM back to factory conditions.

Erase current IPSM then restore default factory settings.

Yes, you will lose your contacts.

Yes, you need to backup your Contacts etc by ActiveSync or use the Orange online service if you're with them.

Orange Backup stores / restores your Contacts, SIM data, Calender and My Documents folder.

Hard reset sounds daunting at first but it's a good way to give your phone a clean bill-of-health and a lot of people who updated to the new E200 ROM had to do it after.
