Guest mofo Posted April 19, 2004 Report Posted April 19, 2004 I play guitar a little and have a good program on my PC to fine tune the guitar. Imagine to have a that piece of software on smartphone so you can fine tune your guitar wherever you are. You can see how that program looks like in PC version http://www.pegar.com.br/pegar_arquivo.asp?link_id=4666 (sorry, I found only this site whre you can download it and it is on spansih, but there is screen and software is on English)
Guest scott2eyes Posted April 19, 2004 Report Posted April 19, 2004 I think the mark of an excellent idea is when the reaction is "well, yeah- I could have thought of that." So... yeah. I could have thought of that.
Guest ferryrich Posted April 19, 2004 Report Posted April 19, 2004 That IS a great idea. Up to now, I've just been using a wav file that I tune to manually. I don't use it too often, just when I've hammered the strings a little too much or haven't played for ages.
Guest Taoski Posted April 19, 2004 Report Posted April 19, 2004 Damn! I was thinking if this the other day! Damn damn damn.....
Guest Vector Posted April 19, 2004 Report Posted April 19, 2004 i emailed a company a whi9le back who have made one for Pocket PC. I got a reply saying something along the lines of thank you for your interest, if we get enough requests we may consider it... CDan't remember what company it was tho :?
Guest Taoski Posted April 19, 2004 Report Posted April 19, 2004 If someone had taken this seriously we could have had it already! http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=99686&highlight= What i envisage is an application with a "effect set chooser" combo box type thing at the top of the screen that allows you to change between different sound sets eg "farts" - "guitar tuner" - "laughs" etc.. The number keys would then be mapped to a set of WAV/MP3 sounds located in the relevant subfolder underneath the program. You could add extra "sets" by putting a new subfolder in the correct place. Each sound would have a name associated with it which would be contained within an INI file - also in the same folder and the name would be displayed on the screen next to the number. It all makes total sense to me... it could be used for quite a lot of stuff - not just making farty noises - maybe a little drum machine type thing?
Guest Palindrome Posted April 19, 2004 Report Posted April 19, 2004 If you were to use the phone as a tuning device how would you play the guitar into the phone so the software could tell you how sharp or flat the guitar is? Would the voice record function be clean or sensitive enough? A nice idea tho.
Guest Vector Posted April 19, 2004 Report Posted April 19, 2004 you could play it into the phone via the microphone? or maybe an adapter of some sorts....?
Guest mofo Posted April 19, 2004 Report Posted April 19, 2004 Hi guys! The software I mentioned works via PC mic (frequency of each 6 tones compares with tone it comes via mic) Well, my Qtek 8080 have a mic and "powerful" CPU :D We have hardware so...
