Guest kid2701 Posted April 19, 2004 Report Posted April 19, 2004 What do you think, is it possible for someone to write this and make possible to use enormous software library created for these devices?
Guest Palindrome Posted April 19, 2004 Report Posted April 19, 2004 In my very limited knowledge I would suppose not as the Smartphone doesn't have the hardware capabilities of a palm. Would that be a fair point?
Guest kid2701 Posted April 19, 2004 Report Posted April 19, 2004 I am not sure... Smartphone has much better CPU, lot of RAM, better screen resolution. Only the problem is with the pen, but it is possible to make a screen cursor
Guest spacemonkey Posted April 19, 2004 Report Posted April 19, 2004 ignoring everything else, you could make a dodgy input based on a joystick driven cursor... but this would be very nasty to use. Aside from that... it'd be a very difficult task to do anyway because you'd be trying to fake the entire palm architecture well enough that the program that was running didn't know you'd done anything. Not a very simple task. Closer would be to build a cross platform library that would allow a developer to program for both platforms easily, but then you'd have to get developers on board and everything and really.... not a easy sell.
Guest djboo Posted April 20, 2004 Report Posted April 20, 2004 the older palms are about as powerful as half a gameboy. at best. with pen emulation, this shouldn't be hard at all. http://www.netmeister.org/palm/POSE/POSE-HOWTO.html
