Guest James Posted April 20, 2004 Report Posted April 20, 2004 Medium-rate Bluetooth passes operability tests. CSR (Cambridge Silicon Radio and Silicon Wave have announced they have successfully performed interoperability testing for medium-rate Bluetooth devices using both the 2Mbps and 3Mbps modes. The tests are a major step to making a commercial reality out of medium-rate Bluetooth - an evolution of the Bluetooth standard witch increases data rates by up to three times to 3Mbps. The data rate of current Bluetooth V1.2 specification is up to 1Mbps. The tests performed covered all aspects of the physical layer through and baseband and link manager functionality and included successful testing of all three modes (3Mbps, 2Mbps and 1Mbps). www.csr.com Source: connectingindustry.com electronics
Guest Pondrew Posted April 20, 2004 Report Posted April 20, 2004 Good news. Look forward to the day I can use my Smartphone as a high speed modem (3G?) using high speed bluetooth with my high speed laptop (which is equally mythical!) :D
