Guest ltgland Posted April 21, 2004 Report Posted April 21, 2004 I have a colleague with an IPAQ, and we got the phone and IPAQ to bond without a problem, but couldn't find a way to send files from the IPAQ to the phone. We tried again with IR. The devices saw each other, the IPAQ file was sent to beam, but the smartphone just didn't take the file (beam was set to receive). How do you get the phone to take stuff off other devices?
Guest gvr Posted April 21, 2004 Report Posted April 21, 2004 Sending via IR should be accepted automatically if your E200 is set to 'recieve incoming beams' :? Easiest way to send from an E200 to another BT phone is to use the latest Smart Explorer, could be worthwhile looking for the IPAQ equivalent of this prog!

All we got was "pending". I was expecting a message on the phone asking me where to store the file, but nothing showed on screen. The IPAQ does have an explorer, but it wouldnt let me browse the smartphone via BT or IR (which is what I would expect!) Do you have to pay for smartexplorer? if so, then it doesnt go on! Also, can you "send via beam" with smartexplorer?
Guest gvr Posted April 21, 2004 Report Posted April 21, 2004 All you should get on your E200 is a prompt asking if you want to start the transfer, I think it should then be automatically placed in your 'My Documents' folder. I dont think you can use the explore function over BT, it can just be used to browse the local device and then 'push' the file to the other BT device. It didnt. I have run the ROM upgrade. It could be bad luck, I will need to try with another device
Guest ltgland Posted April 21, 2004 Report Posted April 21, 2004 Works fine with my laptop, not the Ipaq. I also tried some loose 10k file to see if it was a size thing, and no joy. The guy who owns the Ipaq got it to transfer with his Nokia 3g thing
