How to load smart rom's on UK E100

hi there

i have searched hi and low in this forum for a way of upgrading the E100 uk to Smart rom 1.7 in order to sim lock the phone

can someone tell me how it is done if it is able to be done

I currently have the latest orange update but can easily down grade to to 1.35 update. BL 0.98.

why do you want to sim lock the phone!

The current uk rom for the e100 is the 1.6 rom...

just downgrade with it orange 1.35 then upgrade with smart 1.7...

but i have tried that

it comes up with error saying that the phone is not the right one

cant remeber exact error but something to that effect
