Guest Lyx Turball Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 Finally, there is a firmware update fot Qtek 8080 (must be compatible with SPV e200 also, although I haven't tested it yet), that has native support for Greek language. The update was made by Ace-Hellas, the only distributor for Qtek in Greece. Other than the Greek language support, the firmware (witch is 1.7.10.4 / Greek Version 1.0) has implemented the appropriate settings for GPRS/WAP/MMS etc for the three major carriers in Greece (Vodafone, TIM, CosmOTE) and haw an extra application called Smartfilter (http://www.novomobile.com/smartfilter.php). The download link is: http://www.ace-hellas.gr/qtek/greek/firmware.html PS. Beware, you will loose everything (contacts, settings, ring tones, programs etc) when you upgrade, so be sure to backup! PS. There are two version. They are identical except that the second one has only implemented the appropriate GPRS/WAP/MMS settings for TIM (the other one has all three but none is activated by default. The user must make the initial activation, according to his carrier). Cheers, clicker_gr
Guest Lyx Turball Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 OK!!! I installed it on a SPV E200 and it works great. Greek main menu and application menus, greek SMS etc (you can always change back to English or whatever, from the locale settings). As for the applications, it already has a Windows Explorer, Task Manager and FreeMem pre-installed!!! And the most important thing. IT'S SOFTWARE UNLOCKED!!! Lyx Turball (aka clicker_gr)
