Hi,

i'm a newbie to the smartphone, and need some advice on the use of MSN messenger.

What i want to know is how does it work when on GPRS. I understand that you can have something like 1200 pages on the GPRS and its not counted by the time length online but the amount of data downloaded or uploaded.

So i want to know how it would work for MSN. Can u leave it running in the background and not get charged till u send message???

Please help!

PS. Do i have to get my phone unlocked by a shop or can i download something from somewhere?

Thanks

I think that MSN messenger charges for the amount of messages sent, but not sure...

And if you have an E100 or original SPV you can sim unlock here

or if you have an E200, or MPx200 you can unlock it for £20 here :D

messenger is charged based on the amount of data sent back and fourth, so leaving it open in the background would cost very little (occasional ping of server, and sign on/off messages from contacts.)

Agile Messenger has a traffic counter built into it, can't comment on how accurate it is.

well i have me a copy of that Agile and plan to use that as some people have commented that sometimes Messenger will not log-in.

And if all the cost will be for a couple of server pings, then i will leave it on

Thnaks for help anyway then guys
