Pretty cool...

Click www.linspire.com/btorder to order the bittorrent download of Lindows 4.5, and enter the coupon code 'LINDOWS' for a 49.95 discount, making it free.

Neat :D

Always wanted to get into Linux, this sounds like a good way.

So I've gone ahead and placed an order. Do I have to wait for a link to the bittorent download or am I missing it somehow?

Cheers

Someone told me the other day that it had already been done (a Smartphone flashed with Linux) but he doesn't know much about Smartphone generally so don't know where he's got his info from. To be honest I didn't believe him but just smiled and nodded! :D

Lindows is 95% downloaded. 500 meg in under 2hrs. Currently downloading at 91kps. Not bad!

I mean to get the Lindows/Linspire/Linux to sync with the SPV...

I am running Knoppix on (one of) my laptops - just to have a play - and when i plug in the SPV - it does sod all!

Never mind...

It can be done, I had it working with RedHat.

Will try with Lindows when I get a chance...

I await your new tutorial for all us Linux fans.

It depends on what version of Linux you are using.

I downloaded Knoppix which runs direct from a CD and you can then choose to install it to the Hard Disk if you wish. http://www.knoppix.net i think it is....

Or - if you are feeling brave - and have plenty of disk space and ram - use Microsoft Virtual PC to create a virtual PC within your existing windows installation and you can then run it in a window (or full screen).

I don't think i would swicth to Linux full time - but its nice to play with now and again - and does pretty much all i need to do on a PC. Then again - so does a Mac!!! arghh.
